Incidence, risk factors, and prognostic impact of re-exploration for bleeding after cardiac surgery: A retrospective cohort study

Ohmes LB, et al. - Researchers here assessed the incidence, risk factors, and prognostic significance of re-exploration for bleeding (RB) in a large cohort of cardiac patients. They recognized that RB significantly increased in-hospital mortality and morbidity after cardiac surgery. Predictors of RB operative mortality included shock, urgent/emergent status.
