Incidence and risk factors for postoperative Achilles tendon calcifications after percutaneous repair

Ateschrang A, et al. - This study was conducted to analyze the incidence, risk factors and the potential clinical effect of postoperative tendon calcifications (PTC) following percutaneous Achilles tendon repair. The reported incidence of PTC was 11.1%. Risk for PTC was seemed to be conferred by male gender and advanced age. Importantly, postoperative clinical outcome was not negatively affected by PTC.
