Incidence and mortality of adults with pulmonary hypertension and congenital heart disease

Schwartz SS, et al. - The incidence and mortality of adult-onset pulmonary hypertension (PH) in the congenital heart disease (CHD) population was determined. Compared with the general population, a substantial increase in the incidence of PH was noted in adults with CHD. Notably, the increased incidence was not limited to those with a history of systemic-to-pulmonary shunts. The association of PH with increased mortality was also reported.
