European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Feb 28, 2021
Tang K, Wu L Luo Y, et al. - During the past three decades, there has been a significant increase in application of IVF for infertility treatment in PCOS women. Researchers here performed a meta-analysis of 95 studies involving more than 21,289 PCOS patients and 43,036 controls with the aim to compare reproductive and obstetric outcomes of IVF between women with and without PCOS. Although PCOS women required longer stimulation duration and lower dose of Gn, more oocytes and matured oocytes per cycle were obtained from these women. Results support that IVF is an effective treatment for infertility among PCOS patients. However, there is necessity for options to reduce adverse outcomes regarding to lower fertilization, miscarriage, biochemical pregnancy loss and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
