Improving health equity and ending the HIV epidemic in the USA: A distributional cost-effectiveness analysis in six cities

Quan AML, Mah C, Krebs E, et al. - Equity-focused HIV combination implementation strategies that reduce disparities for Black and Hispanic or Latinx people can significantly improve population health, lower costs, and propel the United States closer to its Ending the HIV Epidemic goals.
In every city, optimal combination methods using the equity approach produced more quality-adjusted life-years than those using the proportional approach, with increases ranging from 3·1% in New York to more than double in Atlanta.
In all cities except Los Angeles, the equity strategy resulted in reduced expenses over a 20-year period, with savings ranging from $22·9 million in Seattle to $579·8 million in Atlanta.
In all cities except Los Angeles, the equity approach lowered incidence disparities and health inequality metrics.
