Sanchez-Pinto LN, et al. - In thsi study, the authors implemented a risk-stratified opioid weaning protocol in critically ill children to reduce the duration of opioids without increasing the incidence of withdrawal. A risk-stratified opioid weaning protocol was implemented for critically ill children that resulted in reduction in opioid exposure without an increase in withdrawal. They found no difference in the LOS.
