Agarwal M, et al. - An exploration was conducted of the consequences of smoking on the outcomes following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). When compared to non-smokers, smokers illustrated better outcomes regardless of a higher cardiovascular disease burden. Hence, it was deduced that the smoker’s paradox could be applicable to the TAVR individuals.
