Moscarella E, et al. – Researchers assessed the effect of Body Mass Index (BMI) on mortality following implantation of bare metal or everolimus–eluting stents in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. Researchers reported an obesity paradox in STEMI patients undergoing primary PCI; with increases in BMI, decrease in long–term all–cause death rate was apparent, irrespective of stent type.
