Immediate interruption of sedation compared with usual sedation care in critically ill postoperative patients (SOS-Ventilation): A randomised, parallel-group clinical trial

Chanques G, et al. - This study presumed that immediate sedation cessation post-intensive care unit (ICU) admission could attenuate unnecessary sedation and improve patient outcomes in critically ill postoperative patients. Findings revealed that immediate interruption of sedation versus usual sedation care resulted in improved outcomes in critically ill postoperative patients with organ dysfunction who were admitted to the ICU after abdominal surgery.
