IDH1 mutation is associated with a higher preoperative seizure incidence in low-grade glioma: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Seizure - European Journal of Epilepsy | Feb 04, 2018
Li Y, et al. - Physicians conducted this systematic review to examine the correlation of isocitrate-dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1), an important molecular biomarker for glioma classification and prognosis, to preoperative seizure incidence in low-grade glioma (LGG). They found a correlation between IDH1 mutation with a higher preoperative seizure incidence in LGG. This outcome would generate impetus for research on the mechanisms behind this correlation, and provided a new idea for the individualized treatment of glioma-related epilepsy.
