Hysterectomy and risk of ovarian cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Huo X, et al. - In this systematic review and meta-analysis, researchers evaluated the association between hysterectomy for benign gynecologic disease and ovarian cancer risk. Analyzing a total of 18 case–control studies in this meta-analysis, they identified no relationship between hysterectomy and ovarian cancer. In subgroup analysis, they noted protective effects for invasive endometrioid/clear cell carcinomas following hysterectomy and no statistical significance for serous and mucinous.
