Hypergammaglobulinemia is a strong predictor of disease progression, hepatocellular carcinoma, and death in patients with compensated cirrhosis

Liver International Dec 06, 2017

Cacciola I, et al. - This study assessed possible predictors of clinical evolution in patients with Child-Pugh (C-P) class A cirrhosis due to untreatable causes by analysing clinical/biochemical/instrumental parameters evaluated at the time of diagnosis and during the subsequent long-term follow-up. A higher risk of disease progression, hepatocellular carcinoma development, and death were identified in C-P class A cirrhotic patients in the presence of hypergammaglobulinemia.
