Yin P, et al. - Experts evaluated if there remained valuable prognostic information in fluctuation of red cell distribution width (RDW) in hip fracture patients treated with surgery. A heightened risk for 2-year all-cause mortality was noted in Hip fracture patients who experienced a greater fluctuation in RDW during the hospital course. As per data, a more effective strategy for the assessment of mortality risk was provided by this readily available parameter, therefore providing a reference for clinical planning and decision-making.
