High incidence of acute kidney injury during chemotherapy for childhood acute myeloid leukemia

Du Plessis L, et al. - The epidemiology of acute kidney injury (AKI) in childhood acute myeloid leukemia (AML) was determined. The risk factors associated with AKI episodes was also determined. A high incidence of AKI was demonstrated in the study cohort. Older age (≥10 years) and severe sepsis served as the risk factors related to AKI episodes.
