Melvin AJ, et al. – Researchers here aimed at focusing on hepatic, renal, hematologic, and inflammatory markers in HIV–infected children on long–term suppressive antiretroviral therapy. Findings supported the safety of prolonged antiretroviral therapy (ART) use in HIV–infected children and suggested that suppressive nonnucleoside reverse–transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI)–based regimens can be associated with lower levels of systemic inflammation.
