Though the literature data is very limited, results of this analysis indicated that low HL was consistently associated with hospital readmissions, low health-related quality of life (HRQoL), higher anxiety and lower social support and hence, for these patients, strategies for mitigating the impact of low HL ought to be adopted by healthcare providers.
