[HDL-C/apoA-I]: A multi-vessel cardiometabolic risk marker in women with T2DM

Diabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews Oct 06, 2017

Hermans MP, et al. - The authors adjusted HDL-C to its main apolipoprotein (apoA-I), as [HDL-C/apoA-I] to evaluate the vascular risk related to HDLs of different sizes/densities without direct measurement. According to metabolic phenotype, macrovascular and coronary damage, β-cell function, microangiopathic risk, and retinopathy, [HDL-C/apoA-I] could stratify T2DM women. This ratio was seen to be a versatile and readily available marker of cardiometabolic status and vascular complications in T2DM women.
