Gram-negative enteric rods/Pseudomonas colonization in mucositis and peri-implantitis of implants restored with cemented and screwed reconstructions: A cross-sectional study

Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research Jul 21, 2019

Ramón-Morales CA, et al. - In this cross-sectional study involving 31 patients, researchers explored the connection between Gram-negative enteric rods and Pseudomonas with mucositis and peri-implantitis, in implants restored with cemented and screw-retained reconstructions. Participants in this research were people treated with implants, diagnosed with peri-implant mucositis and/or peri-implantitis. Implant microbiota and two neighboring teeth's gingival sulcus have also been studied. A total of 52 and 51 implants cemented and screwed restored have been assessed. According to findings, Gram-negative enteric rods/Pseudomonas was correlated with cemented restored implants. In addition, cemented restored implants were related to peri-implantitis.
