Gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist final oocyte maturation and human chorionic gonadotropin as exclusive luteal support in normal responders
Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation Jul 30, 2018
Beck-Fruchter R, et al. - Given the efficacy of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist triggering in stimulating ovulation but with an early luteolysis, researchers evaluated GnRH agonist triggering with exclusive human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) luteal support. They performed a prospective observational study including 56 normogonadotropic-assisted reproductive technology patients, stimulated using a GnRH-antagonist protocol. Findings suggest that to hCG triggering with progesterone support, GnRH agonist triggering with exclusive hCG support could be a valid alternative. In this protocol, the potential advantages of a physiological trigger were combined with a simple, patient-friendly, luteal support.
