Gluten-free diet may improve obstructive sleep apnea-related symptoms in children with celiac disease

Yerushalmy-Feler A, et al. - The effect of a gluten-free diet on obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) symptoms was explored in children with celiac disease. When compared to controls, children with celiac disease had fewer OSA-related symptoms. However, the degree of improvement following the initiation of a gluten-free diet was significantly higher in children with celiac disease. Thus, a gluten-free diet could improve OSA-related symptoms in children with celiac disease.
