Ettel M, et al. - This research aspired to analyze the frequency and pathological characteristics of Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) associated with varied hepatotoxic agents. The data discovered nutritional/herbal supplements to be one of the major hepatotoxicity agents. DILI could manifest as predominantly hepatitis, bile duct injury or combination. The detection of specific hepatotoxic agents causing DILI could be achieved via histological pattern recognition in the liver biopsy.
