Fractional CO2 laser treatment for vulvovaginal atrophy symptoms and vaginal rejuvenation in perimenopausal women

Arroyo C - This study performed an inquiry of a novel fractional carbon dioxide (CO2) laser for treatment of symptoms related to vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA) in perimenopausal women. A link was determined between this therapy with an improvement of vaginal health and amelioration of symptoms of VVA. This, in turn, led to improved sexual function in perimenopausal women. Treatment time appeared to be quick, with a minimal discomfort. The analyses of clinical outcome necessitated additional research.
