Foot strike pattern in children during shod-unshod running

Gait and Posture Aug 11, 2017

Roman PAL, et al. – This paper investigated the foot strike patterns (FSPs) and neutral support (no inversion/eversion (INV/EVE) and no foot rotation) in children. It also examined the influence of shod/unshod conditions and sex. Lower rearfoot strike (RFS) prevalence was noted in children than adults. Barefoot running appeared to reduce the prevalence of RFS and INV/EVE. Nevertheless, it increased the foot rotation.
