Flavocoxid exerts a potent antiviral effect against hepatitis B virus

Inflammation Research Oct 13, 2017

Pollicino T, et al. - This study assessed the potential antiviral activity of Flavocoxid against hepatitis B virus (HBV). Furthermore, it was investigated if Flavocoxid used in combination with Entecavir could potentiate its anti-HBV activity. Findings demonstrated that by targeting multiple steps of viral life cycle, Flavocoxid exerted an inhibiting impact on HBV replication. Importantly, it was indicated that Flavocoxid potentiated antiviral activity of Entecavir, and might be considered as an adjuvant for anti-HBV therapy.
