Femoral nonunion with segmental bone defect treated by distraction osteogenesis with monolateral external fixation

Zhang Q, et al. - Patients with femoral nonunion with segmental bone defects (> 6 cm) were retrospectively analyzed in this study in order to determine the outcomes of treatment with monolateral external fixation using the distraction osteogenesis. Effective stability, improved compliance, and reduced complications were documented as the outcomes that can be obtained via monolateral external fixation in patients with femoral nonunion with large segmental bone defects.
