Female reproductive history and risk of type 2 diabetes: A prospective analysis of 126,721 women
Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism May 31, 2018
Pandeya N, et al. - The prospective associations between aspects of a woman's reproductive history and incident diabetes were studied in this investigation. For the purpose of this analysis, the researchers pooled individual data from one hundred twenty-six thousand, seven hundred twenty-one middle-aged women from eight cohort studies contributing to the International Collaboration for a Life Course Approach to Reproductive Health and Chronic Disease Events (InterLACE). The findings demonstrated that several markers of a woman's reproductive history seem to be modestly correlated with future risk of diabetes. Results of this study suggested that maintaining a normal weight in adult life could ameliorate any increase in risk conferred by early onset of menarche.
