Features of fracture of prosthetic tooth-endocrown constructions by means of acoustic emission analysis
Dental Materials Feb 12, 2018
Skalskyi V, et al. - Under a quasi-static compressive load using acoustic emission (AE) method, researchers compared the fracture resistance of different restorative materials used in dental endocrown restorations and respective endocrown restorations. High-strength materials ought to be used for making the dental restorations. Out of the materials used for the endocrowns, highest fracture strength was displayed by the zirconia, while composite resin had the lowest fracture strength. The risk of failure during clinical use could be lowered by the use of metal ceramics as endocrown material, for teeth restored with endocrowns.
