Feasibility study in teledermatopathology: An examination of the histopathologic features of mycosis fungoides and spongiotic dermatitis

Journal of Cutaneous Pathology Aug 14, 2017

Fertig RM, et al. – An exploration was pursued of the concordance in diagnoses made on digital slides (DS) versus traditional glass slides (GS) in differentiating between spongiotic dermatitis (SD) and patch/plaque–stage mycosis fungoides (MF). The interobserver and intraobserver discordances revealed a similarity. This, in turn, indicated that whole slide imaging (WSI) did not introduce additional barriers or variability to accurately determine the histopathologic characteristic and to discriminate between MF and SD, beyond interobserver variability.
