Teng Y, et al. - This study entails comparison between transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) probe as a surface probe and the vascular probe for guiding internal jugular vein (IJV) catheterization. TEE probe, used as a surface probe, demonstrated favorable feasibility and safety, and hence, can be used to guide IJV puncturing and catheterization in cardiac surgery patients.
