Saidi I, Koumeka PP, Amro L, et al. - This cross-sectional descriptive survey was attempted to assess the mental health status as well as associated factors of anxiety and depression among patients suffering from 2019 Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). This analysis involved 103 participants, with an average age 44, 17±17, 19 years. Among participants, symptoms of anxiety or depression were present in 34.72% and 28.47% patients, respectively. For all patients, mean score of anxiety subscale and depression subscale was 6.45±4.29 and 5.38 ±4.47, respectively. In bivariate analysis, factors that were shown to be related to anxiety and depression for COVID-19 patients were: age, oxygen saturation level, hospital stay and family infection with SARS-CoV-2. Gender was also found to be related to depression. Overall, an elevating level of anxiety and depression was seen in hospitalized patients suffering from COVID-19. Mental concern and suitable intervention continue to be an essential component of clinical care for those who are at risk.
