Factors affecting dental cleaning behaviour among pregnant women with gingivitis
International Journal of Dental Hygiene Mar 15, 2019
Rahmani A, et al. - In Sanandaj city, in the west of Iran in 2017, researchers analyzed the factors concerning dental cleaning behavior among pregnant females with gingivitis among 340 pregnant women from 5 health comprehensive service centers. They recorded a higher mean score of the gingival index, perceived barriers and fear of dental care in the initial stages of behavior change. A linear correlation of perceived self-efficacy with social support and perceived benefits was also noted. A lower acceptance of the benefits of dental cleaning behavior among most of the females was observed. This caused insufficient incentive for doing the behavior and did not receive the required social support.
