Exploring the lived experience of women immediately following mastectomy: A phenomenological study

Claire D et al. – The study is an in–depth interview process which explored lived experience of 10 women experiencing scars for the first time following mastectomy. Evidences prove that challenges faced by women following mastectomy were not adequately addressed by healthcare professionals. Hence, suggesting the need for better understanding of the difficulties perceived by women and implementing strategies for successful adaptation to the experience.
