Exploring conditions for redistribution of anti-TNFs to reduce spillage. A study on the quality of anti-TNF home storage

Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Aug 31, 2017

de Jong MJ, et al. – The authors assessed potential redistribution of unused injectors to prevent spillage of these costly drugs by evaluating the quality of transport and home storage through the proportion of injectors stored within the recommended temperature range (2°C–8°C) and acceptance of redistribution by patients. Within the recommended temperature range, only 1 in 8 biological injectors was stored during transport and home–storage. This limited redistribution of unused injectors, but also raised concern about drug effectiveness in immune mediated inflammatory disease (IMID)–patients.
