International Emergency Nursing Sep 22, 2017
Brännström M, et al. - Authors here reported peopleÂs experiences of surviving a cardiac arrest (CA) after therapeutic hypothermia treatment. They realized that surviving a CA means dealing with issues of mortality, and the survivors face a turning point in life. The near-death event seemed to create regression or progression in ethos among those affected. These patients could be supported by initially establishing an individualized health care plan including bringing up existential issues and involving family members in such conversations.
