EUS-guided choledochoduodenostomy vs hepaticogastrostomy: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology | Jan 20, 2018
Uemura RS, et al. - This meta-analysis was conducted to assess 2 main Endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage (EUS-BD) methods [EUS-guided choledochoduodenostomy (EUS-CDS) vs EUS-guided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS-HGS)] in patients with malignant biliary obstruction with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) failure. EUS-CDS and EUS-HGS were found to be equally effective and safe. Both these EUS-BD methods were correlated with a very high technical and clinical success. The choice of approach could be selected based on patient anatomy.
