Krajarng A, et al. – The mechanism of Torch ginger (Etlingera elatior, EE) extract on cell death induction in melanoma cells was examine in this study. The clinicians proposed that in B16 cells, EE extract induced caspase–independent cell death via down–regulation of ERK and Akt pathways. For melanoma treatment, this could be beneficial as a chemopreventive or chemotherapeutic agent.
