Endometriosis increased the risk of bladder pain syndrome/interstitial cystitis: A population-based study
Neurourology and Urodynamics Apr 16, 2018
Wu CC, et al. - Authors evaluated the risk of bladder pain syndrome/interstitial cystitis (BPS/IC) in patients with endometriosis during a 3-year follow-up in Taiwan using a population-based dataset. In order to estimate the risk of subsequent BPS/IC following a diagnosis of endometriosis, a Cox proportional hazards regression model was employed. Results demonstrated an epidemiological evidence suggesting that endometriosis was associated with a subsequent diagnosis of BPS/IC. Compared to subjects without endometriosis, the hazard ratio for developing BPS/IC over a 3-year period for subjects with endometriosis was 95%.
