Emergency medicine evaluation and management of the end stage renal disease patient

Long B, et al. - In this review, the authors assessed complications of end stage renal disease (ESRD) including cardiopulmonary, neurologic, infectious disease, vascular, and access site complications, as well as medication use in this population. In ESRD, consideration of renal physiology with complications could assist emergency providers in the evaluation and management of these patients. ESRD affected many organ systems, and particular pharmacologic considerations were needed.
