Mitchell CM, et al. - Authors pursued a comparative analysis of the efficacy of a low-dose vaginal estradiol tablet and a vaginal moisturizer, each vs placebo, for the treatment of moderate-to-severe postmenopausal vulvovaginal symptoms. It was illustrated that no additional benefit was gained via prescribed vaginal estradiol tablet or over-the-counter vaginal moisturizer over placebo vaginal tablet and gel in reducing postmenopausal vulvovaginal symptoms.
