Efficacy of single-shot adductor canal block combined with posterior capsular infiltration on postoperative pain and functional outcome after total knee arthroplasty: A prospective, double-blind, randomized controlled study
Journal of Arthroplasty May 08, 2019
Wang Q, et al. - Researchers randomized patients undergoing unilateral primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) into 2 groups, one of which was treated with adductor canal block (ACB) combined with posterior capsular infiltration (PCI), and the other with periarticular infiltration analgesia, in order to determine the relative analgesic efficacy of the two regimens. Outcomes revealed reduction in postoperative pain sooner after TKA using ACB combined with PCI. This was evident with no adverse effect on postoperative functional recovery and no increase in complications.
