Efficacy and safety of intra-articular vs intravenous tranexamic acid in reducing perioperative blood loss in total knee arthroplasty: A prospective randomized double-blind equivalence trial

Subramanyam KN, et al. - Herein, researchers compared the effectiveness and safety of intra-articular tranexamic acid (TXA) with intravenous (IV) tranexamic acid (TXA) in the control of perioperative blood loss in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). In the management of blood loss at TKA, a single intra-articular dose and two IV doses of TXA were noted to be equally effective and safe.
