BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders Apr 08, 2021
Fukushima K, Uekusa Y, Koyama T, et al. - This research was attempted to assess the effectiveness and safety of arthroscopic management for native acute septic arthritis of the hip joint in adult patients. Researchers retrospectively examined five adult patients (mean age, 46.2 years; all male). They assessed preoperative comorbidities, bacterial culture results, surgical complications, duration of hospital stay, time-to-confirmed normalization of the C-reactive protein level, and recurrence incidence. For native acute septic arthritis of the hip joint, arthroscopic management was found to be a safe and effective procedure in adult patients.
