Forni C, et al. - Experts ascertained if the application of a new innovative multi-layer polyurethane foam dressing (ALLEVYN LIFE), reduced the onset of pressure ulcers in the sacral area among elderly patients with hip fractures. The inference drawn was that polyurethane foam was effective at reducing the rate of pressure ulcers in the study cohort. It was noted that the adhesiveness of this device made it cost-effective.
