Bibars ARM, et al. – This research scrutinized the impact of thixotropic agents as additives on the mechanical properties of maxillofacial silicone elastomers. The incorporation of thixotropic agents into the three maxillofacial silicone elastomers used in this study decreased some favorable mechanical properties, especially tear strength and percentage of elongation. Z004 presented superior mechanical properties among the 3 tested silicones.
