Effect of mental health status on arrhythmia recurrence after catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation
Canadian Journal of Cardiology Feb 21, 2019
Jia Z, et al. - Investigators examined 448 participants to evaluate the relationship between mental health status and recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmia (AT) after catheter ablation in this single-center prospective cohort study. They noticed 10.7% of cases encountered AT recurrence in the 3 months after the mental health status evaluation. They recorded recurrence rates, 35.7%, 13.5%, 10.6% and 4.6% in subjects with a Mental Health Inventory-5 (MHI-5) score of 0-52, 53-75, 76-85 and 86-100, respectively. They concluded an association of poor mental health status with AT recurrence after catheter ablation.
