Liu WC, et al. - A nationwide matched study was planned to assess the effect of influenza vaccination against postoperative pneumonia and mortality for geriatric patients receiving major surgery. Researchers noticed that compared with unvaccinated patients, vaccinated geriatric surgical patients showed lower risks of pneumonia and in-hospital mortality when undergoing similar major surgeries.
