Effect of daily low dose prednisone, divided or single daily dose, in the treatment of African Americans with early rheumatoid arthritis

Conn DL, et al. - In this study including African Americans (AA) with early rheumatoid arthritis (RA) from the Consortium for the Longitudinal Evaluation of African Americans with Early Rheumatoid Arthritis (CLEAR) 1 Registry, researchers assessed the impact of daily low divided or single daily dose of prednisone on the longitudinal change in the number of tender and swollen joints and HAQ scores. In association with divided daily low doses of prednisone, reduced number of tender joints was observed. Furthermore, less hypertension was reported in those with divided daily doses of prednisone.
