Froissart A, et al. - A prospective study is performed to ascertain the impact of a red blood cell transfusion on biological markers used to ascertain the cause of anemia. The outcome of this study suggest that the blood tests performed after a one-time red blood cell transfusion can be utilized to establish the cause of anemia when they have not been performed before.
