Early and asymptomatic cardiac dysfunction in chronic kidney disease

Chinnappa S, et al. - Asymptomatic chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients without co-morbid cardiac disease or diabetes mellitus were examined for subclinical cardiac dysfunction via evaluation of peak cardiac performance. For the first time, impaired peak cardiac performance and cardiac functional reserve were demonstrated in asymptomatic CKD patients.
