Dysregulated placental microRNAs in early and late onset Preeclampsia
Placenta Nov 19, 2017
Alexandra Lykoudi, et al. - This study was performed to assess the miRNA expression profile in placentas complicated by Preeclampsia (PE) and compare it to uncomplicated pregnancies. As per results, specific miRNAs can differentiate early onset PE (EOPE) and late onset PE (LOPE), and thus can be considered as putative PE-specific biomarkers. For EOPE cases as well as for PE-FGR complicated placentas, MiR-518a-5p emerged as a potential diagnostic indicator, suggesting a potential link to the severity of the disease.
